This is a very specialized lubricant with properties that are absolutely perfect for application in the line roller of an Ultralight spinning reel.

  • Synthetic
  • Waterproof and water-repellent. (stable even in salt water)
  • Low friction/ low resistance in high-speed applications (much better than the line roller grease Shimano sells, therefore more suitable for ultralight gear)
  • High temperature range (-30F to 380F) (can use even in Canada)
  • Does not separate or gunk-up (like Shimano's DG-1 grease does)
  • NON TOXIC (made of non toxic synthetic base oils, not harmful to fish or wildlife)

Use this grease to increase the longevity of your line roller or to remove line roller noise coming from bearing rust, algae, dust or wear. It cannot fix physically damaged line rollers. Strongly recommended for aftermarket replacement bearings, because the aftermarket bearings are usually going in a line roller designed for a plastic bushing and not sealed very well.

Because of the very low resistance, this is the only grease that I would recommend for use on the main shaft. Use very little in the upper section that is rubbing against the rotor for a buttery feel. Do not leave excess grease there, or it will bunch up under the spool. It is also good for the oscillation worm shaft, oscillation worm stabilizer, and the plastic oscillation worm gears, because you want the lightest possible lubricant there!

Not Recommended for:

  • Main gears - you need heavier grease for main gears. Use JDM gear grease - Daiwa, IOS Factory and other gear grease from Hedgehog Studio
  • Drag disks   - absolutely not suitable for drag disks, both felt and carbon. Use Anti-Surge drag grease for that. Beware that JDM drag grease is very different than my Anti-Surge grease and is trying to achieve different goals and I much prefer the feel and sound of drag with Anti-Surge (watch my videos for that)
  • Mag-sealed line rollers - I don't own such reels, they are mostly saltwater reels, but u cant use this grease there.
