BG-1 ECOLITE micro jigs

The ECOLITE models of the BG-1 jigs are made with the same Japanese hooks as all other models. They are actually made from the same molds as the other models! But we created a metal alloy without lead and with density only 60% of the lead density.

ECO because these jigs don't have lead, and I know many of you feel bad about littering the lakes with lead. Some states on East Coast have banned fishing with lead and the Ecolite jigs have no lead so they can be fished in such places.

LITE because the new alloy is lighter than lead, and the jigs are characterized by a slow sink rate. The density of the alloy is only 60% of the density of lead. If you drop a 1 gram lead jig and 1 gram ecolite jig in the water, the Ecolite will sink almost twice slower. For that reason Ecolite jigs are best fished in shallow water, ponds, and especially creeks. (video below explains physics of ecolite alloy sink rate)

The 0.6g #12 ECOLITE (0.6 gram weight/ size 12 hook) is made of the same mold/ same hook as the 1.0 gram #12 hook BG-1.

The 0.75g #10 ECOLITE (0.75 gram weight/ size 10 hook) is made from the same mold/hook as the 1.25 gram #10 BG-1.

The 1.2g #8 ECOLITE (1.2 gram weight/ size 8 hook) is made from the same mold/hook as the 2.0 gram #8 BG-1.
